Efficiency:
By offsetting the three storeys, outdoor spaces are created on the rooftops of lower floors to accommodate the limited square footages.
A green roof as well as a terrace are able to be introduced into the design due to the extra space created by reducing the square footage of the third floor and offsetting it to the right of the second floor.
Energy:
Solar panels or solar tiles can be installed on two sides of the pyramid hipped roof that are facing the sun, especially the side which faces the south-east direction.
Since the design incorporated the sun path concept, the north east and south east sides will be receiving plenty of sunlight in summer, and the south east side will continue to receive sunlight even in winter.
